On a day where I'm feeling fine
I'm thinking my life through,
thinking over everything
that I've somehow made it through.
Thinking of months when I couldn't
ever sleep the whole night through,
kept on waiting for a reason to smile
telling myself, "Man, I'm through."
Remembering days where I would
do what I thought I'd never do,
I'd count up pills and write notes of goodbye
with no one to send them to.
Now I'm sitting back, knowing that
by fighting back my mind,
I've reached today, I don't feel like that,
I'm smiling and I'm glad I'm alive.
I've been through hell,
turned around, hit the bottom,
climbed back up and survived.
Looking forward now
and I can laugh
because finally I can say,
"I’m alright."
